Career Pathways
A career pathway is a series of connected education and training opportunities – sometimes referred to as stacked credentials – and support services that equip job seekers to enter and advance in an industry or occupation. Career pathways are established by aligning secondary and post-secondary education with workforce development systems and human services at the local, regional or state level. National Disability Institute believes that inclusion in career pathways is required to achieve equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities. To that end, we lead the national conversation on inclusive career pathways and provide training and technical assistance to the public workforce system in all 50 states and U.S. territories. Learn more below.
Inclusive Career Pathway Systems
The LEAD Center, Workforce Innovation Technical Assistance Center (WINTAC) and Disability Employment Initiative (DEI) are working to increase the participation of individuals with disabilities in inclusive career pathways systems and existing programs in the public workforce system. Inclusive career pathways are programs and approaches designed to support people whose career options have been limited because they lack the academic and/or technical skills necessary for many high-demand and high-growth career opportunities.
Inclusive Career Pathways Community of Practice (CoP)
Through participation in this dynamic CoP, workforce partners and state VR agencies will have an opportunity to not only share and highlight the work that has been done, but also participate in an exchange of ideas with others across the nation to continue to expand and grow inclusive career pathways.
Membership in the CoP is not required for attendance, but new members are always welcomed. Sign up now.
