Today, National Disability Institute (NDI) Executive Director, Michael Morris, and Mia Russell, Wells Fargo Hands on Banking, gave a workshop at the 12th Annual Financial Literacy Leadership Conference, sponsored by The Society for Financial Education and Professional Development, Inc. (SFE&PD), at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Va. The theme of this year’s conference is “Financial Literacy Applications.”
The workshop, Improving Financial Capability for People with Disabilities, explored the financial landscape of people with disabilities, shared resources available that can help people with disabilities and provided guidance for educators and practitioners that work with people with disabilities. In the session, Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) accounts were introduced as well as available benefits that foster financial capability.
SFE&PD is a financial education and professional development nonprofit that teaches college students from underserved communities and individuals from all backgrounds to manage money wisely.
