Biography
LaShawn Douglas is the Director of Marketing and Communications at National Disability Institute (NDI), leading strategic initiatives that amplify NDI’s mission of financial capability and economic empowerment for people with disabilities. With 20 years of experience in strategic and crisis communications, stakeholder engagement, and integrated marketing campaigns, she is a proven leader in the field.
Before joining NDI, LaShawn was an Account Director at CMRignite, overseeing Social Impact Marketing for housing and finance clients, such as Northwestern Mutual, WIC, and the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA). She has also held leadership roles at the DC Housing Authority (DCHA), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the American Bankers Association.
LaShawn holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix, a Master’s in Event Management (MTA) from The George Washington University School of Business, and a Bachelor’s in Marketing from Virginia State University’s Reginald F. Lewis College of Business. She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the American Marketing Association.
Outside of work, LaShawn enjoys family time with her husband, children, and dog, as well as rooting for her local D.C. professional sports teams.
