Join us to learn about the Technology-Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities (TRAID) Program. Each year there are new services designed to help people who use assistive technology. There are regional offices that help people get the devices they need to live independently within their home, school and workplace settings. People may not be aware of devices that are available that can help them, given their situation. Often a device or equipment can be borrowed. The program can provide hands-on training to people with disabilities and seniors.
This session will focus on telehealth and how using a tablet computer can help people save money and stay connected in their community with friends, family and health providers. Documents will be shared that are designed to help people, providers and case managers understand how a device can help.
National Disability Institute can help you find grants and help you decide if taking out a loan could be an option to meet your need for assistive technology. Learn about the availability of affordable loans for people for whom taking out a loan might be the best option available. There is no income limit needed to apply for these loans. NDI’s AT Loan Program offers the opportunity to apply for a loan up to $45,000 at 4% interest for the purchase or refinance of assistive technology.
