People who need assistive technology are often eligible for programs that can assess a person’s need or try out a device that may help them at home or in the community. There are even programs that can help pay for the purchase or repair of AT. Sometimes people who need AT experience barriers to their getting the AT funding that is meant to help them. Remember, AT may include communication, hearing or vision devices, home or vehicle modifications and much more.
Disability Rights can help people understand their rights and steps to take to ensure they can get the AT services they need.
Join us on April 18th, from 12 noon to 1:00 to learn about AT assistance that is available through Disability Rights organizations. Helen Hellmuth, a Senior Advocate from Disability Rights New York will share information to help you and your customers who rely on AT.
