Darius Pietrocola, from Solid Rock Financial (an Accessible Technology company) has more than 40 years of experience in the field of accessible computer systems technology and will share readily available options to meet people’s needs, including the needs of people who have visual impairments. Darius’ experience includes the provision of assessment services and AT support services that ensure the appropriate selection and use of AT.
Melinda Dolezal, TRAID Program Director, will share information including how people can use services and try out assistive technology prior to making a purchase to know that a device will work for them.
National Disability Institute’s AT Loan Program provides referrals for grants and funding to cover the cost of AT when possible. For those who need to purchase or refinance their purchase of assistive technology, affordable loans are available for residents of New Jersey and New York. NDI’s AT Loan Program offers the opportunity to apply for a loan up to $45,000 at 4% interest for the purchase or refinance of assistive technology (as of 2024). Lending terms are favorable, helping loan recipients develop or improve their credit and save money.
